I enjoy many hobbies outside of work - after all, you only live once! Triathlon and marathon ocean swimming are my main hobbies and my main goal outside of chiropractic right now is to swim across the Cook Strait (Between North and South Island in New Zealand). I also enjoy daily yoga, on weekends and holidays I love to go hiking, camping and bike riding. I regularly enjoy outdoor family time, gardening, drawing, and playing with my very active border collie and watching good movies.
At age 16 while training heavily for triathlon, I suffered sudden cardiac arrhythmias (racing heart beat) and a severe mid spine injury in which I could not lift my arms above my head. This lasted six months. Specialists recommended both spinal and heart surgery. A week prior to the first surgery, I consulted a chiropractor who found spinal misalignment (subluxation) and adjusted me. He told me that this was a potential cause of my problems, though I did not believe him (I believed the "real doctors") Three days later, my problems were resolving. I learned about how the spine and nerve system were central to the body's well being, and became passionate about helping as many people as I could get well and stay well. At that time I decided to become a chiropractor. I went on to compete for the Canadian Triathlon team before studying chiropractic, then immigrating to Australia to practice chiropractic (and met the wonderful Aussie lady who became my wife.)
Anyone who owns a spine is welcome for a consultation.
Friendly, relaxed chiropractor and staff. Family and Children friendly.
Aches and pains are signs that your body isn't working correctly. Your brain, spinal cord and all your nerves control how your body works. Physical, chemical or emotional stresses produce a defensive posture. Muscles contract, locking spinal joints that pinch or irritate nearby nerves. Lack of nervous system integrity sets the stage for disease and ill health. A thorough examination helps chiropractors find these subluxations. Applying a precise force to stuck spinal joints helps the body correct itself. Health usually returns as repeated visits restore nervous system integrity. That's why chiropractic care has helped millions get well and stay well.
