Sciatica Relief
Sciatica is an acute pain in the lower back that extends down the back of either leg. This type of pain is aggravated by long periods of sitting or standing. However extended bed rest may also aggravate the problem of sciatica nerve pain.
Pain killers and anti inflammatories have mild short term benefits but they are unable to correct pinched nerve caused by a bulging disc that causes the back pain.
Sciatica responds well to chiropractic care. Chiropractors are uniquely positioned to evaluate and reduce the most common causes of sciatica nerve pain. Chiropractors achieve great results in sciatic pain reliefwithout drugs or surgery.
Common causes of Sciatica:
There is often a history of minor trauma such as a car accident or sporting injury. Years of bad posture and poor muscle tone, excess weight and excessive strain on the lower back may trigger an episode of sciatica.
Response to Chiropractic care:
Most patients suffering from sciatica respond within a couple day to weeks. The response time depends on the cause and extent of the amount of spinal decay that caused the sciatica attack in the first place.
Other symptoms of Sciatica:
Pain can be felt deep in the buttock, travelling down the leg and sometime even to the foot. The pain can feel like a "burning knife" or even a "pins and needles" There may be associated muscle spasm or even weakness or a pinched nerve. Your Chiropractor is skilled in identifying the symptoms and treating your sciatica specifically.

Piriformis syndrome - spasm of the piriformis muscle in the buttocks
Lumbar spinal stenosis - narrowing of the space where the nerves exit the spine
